The ECS Network Infrastructure Awareness Assessment has been devised by industry employers to provide a route to support the application of an ECS Network Infrastructure Assistant card. For those in industry who have not been able to undertake an apprenticeship and do not hold recognised industry qualifications, the Network Infrastructure Awareness Assessment is a simple and cost-effective way to meet an awareness level standard and allow the award of the ECS Network Infrastructure Assistant card.
This Assessment has been available for over a year and ECS is reminding employers and individuals that this is one of the assessment available by Remote Invigilation.
Remote Invigilation is a way that allows delegates to take a formal ECS assessment without having to travel to a centre for an invigilator to monitor their behaviour in person while taking a test. This has been incredibly successful since launch with more than 2,000 health, safety and environmental assessments now being undertaken each month. This Remote Invigilation system also allows these sector specific assessments, such as Network Infrastructure Awareness, to be undertaken without needing to travel to a physical centre.
Although the HSE assessments can be booked directly on an individual’s MyECS Portal, the sector specific assessments need to be requested to be activated. This is to ensure people only undertake the correct assessments. If you are an individual and wish to undertake one of the sector-specific assessments, such as Network Infrastructure, please call 01322 661622 and the ECS Team can activate this on your account.
For employers on the ECS Employer Portal, Remote Invigilation assessments can be activated by emailing the ECS Team on guidance.portal@ecscard.org.uk putting “Remote Invigilation Service” and your JIB member or Employer Portal reference number in the subject line. Please confirm you would like to include specific assessments, such as the Network Infrastructure, Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) or Electrical Safety Unit.
