The ECS Industry Placement card is now available for trainees through training providers who are registered with the JIB.
The Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) is reminding employers in the electrotechnical industry to register potential apprentices for the ECS Pre-apprentice card, which has been designed to support the employer and potential apprentice in achieving a successful probationary period before the full apprentice registration is made by a training provider.
A range of ECS cards are available through the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) for the Network Infrastructure industry, previously referred to as Datacomms. After an extensive process of consultation and development to develop the new Cable Network Installer apprenticeship, work was undertaken to map across qualifications and raise standards in the sector.
An industry-wide initiative involving the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS), both through the Joint Industry Board (JIB) and Scottish Joint Industry Board (SJIB) for the Electrotechnical Industry, Joint Industry Board for Plumbing, Mechanical and Engineering Services (JIB-PMES), Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) and the Scottish Northern Ireland Joint Industry Board (SNIJIB) is underway in order to upskill the UK’s existing workforce and help achieve the Government’s target of net zero carbon by 2050 (and respective devolved nations of 2050 for Wales and Northern Ireland and 2045 in Scotland).
